Interior remodel, 1997

San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery opened its new doors off the main lobby of the War Memorial, a traditional Beaux Arts building which is part of San Francisco’s Civic Center. This unique location requires an architecture which is responsive to the gallery’s long history as an alternative art space, while maintaining a dignity appropriate to the context.
